The word 'internship' has been badly misused. Most students who've done one will tell you the same story: they were asked to make tea, photocopy documents, or at best, work on a dummy project that nobody actually used. They got a certificate, not experience.
That's not what we do. Here's what the Consign.Tech Academy Training Internship actually looks like.
Real Work on Real Projects
Consign.Tech is a working IT company. We have clients. Those clients have websites, applications, infrastructure, and business problems that need solving. Our interns work on those — not sandbox exercises, not tutorial projects, but actual deliverables for actual clients.
This means your work matters. When you fix a bug, a real user stops seeing that bug. When you deploy a feature, a real business starts using it. This is a fundamentally different experience from academic projects — and it shows on your resume in a way that nothing else does.
Structured Monthly Milestones
The 6 months aren't just time passing. Each month has a defined focus:
- 1Onboarding — tools, workflows, version control, understanding our codebase and client context
- 2Guided Contribution — small tasks and bug fixes with close mentor review
- 3Independent Work — taking ownership of a feature or module end-to-end
- 4Client-Facing Delivery — presenting work, handling feedback, refining based on requirements
- 5Leadership Skills — reviewing others' work, writing documentation, mentoring newer interns
- 6Portfolio & Exit — completing your showcase project, interview preparation, placement support
At the end of 6 months, you don't just have a certificate. You have a GitHub portfolio with real commits, a project you can demonstrate in an interview, and a mentor who knows your work and can vouch for you.
The Stipend Structure
Month 1 involves an onboarding fee — because we're investing heavily in getting you set up, trained on our systems, and connected to a mentor. From Month 2 onwards, you earn a stipend. Interns who consistently complete milestones and demonstrate good work ethic earn more as the program progresses.
We designed it this way because we believe that being paid for your work — even a modest amount — changes how you show up. You're not a student doing a project. You're a professional meeting a commitment.
Who Is This For?
- Final-year or recently graduated engineering, BCA, BSc Computer Science, or related students
- Arts and commerce students with a genuine interest in IT (see our separate article on this)
- Anyone who has completed our IT training courses and wants to go deeper
- People who want to transition into IT from another field
Beyond the Technical Work
Every intern also participates in communication training, mock client calls, and — uniquely — volunteer activities in the community. These aren't optional extras. We believe that the best IT professionals are people who understand what they're building systems for, and who have been forced to communicate clearly with people who don't know technology at all.
When you explain a technical problem to an elderly person at a palliative care centre, and help them understand how to use a phone to video call their family — that moment teaches you more about communication than any presentation training ever will.
After the Internship
Interns who perform well are considered for full-time positions at Consign.Tech. We also maintain an active network of placement partners and actively refer our interns. Your mentor writes you a detailed reference — not a form letter.
If you want an internship that actually prepares you for a career rather than just filling a column on your resume, this is it.
